Happy Birthday Mikayla
Eleven years ago today, we got word that our sweet little birth mother had given birth to a 7lb 12 oz beautiful baby girl! After waiting for 10 years to finally have a child, you can imagine the happiness, excitement and joy we were experiencing. She was an angel, and is still an angel to our family. We love our Mikayla Diane! What a sweet girl she is. Some of the things we love about Mikayla are her smile, her laughter, her ability to choose the right, to love and accept others, she is so smart and loves to learn. She loves and I mean loves to dance, she is a good friend, daughter and sister. She loves hugs and gives great hugs. She is very artistic, neat and organized. She is not afraid to call us mama and daddy or hold our hands still in public. She is full of life and adventure. We love you our little Mikayla! You are the best, and we are so proud of you! You are beautiful!

I am feeling a little overwhelmed right now. For some reason I didn't know that Mik was adopted. My eyes welled up when I read what you wrote about her. How lucky she is to be placed with such a loving family, and all the opportunities you have provided her with that she may not have had other wise. She is such a sweetheart and a hard worker. Savannah and I were talking about how much she has improved this year and how great is looking. I couldn't be more proud of her. I know you feel the same.
We are going to have our end of the year party next Friday May 16th. I would like to hand out my picture books then. I would still love to come over to your house to work on them. Please let me know when a good time is for you. Thanks for everything:)

Just for the record, I was there the day you brought that bundle of joy home!!It was a magical day, (aside from everyone wanting to hold her and not give you a minute alone). I happen to know first hand how great it is to have that special daughter, one of your own!We are so happy for you and so happy for her. Mikayla, happy happy birthday, may you feel loved and know how many people prayed for you and we are all wishing you the best year that any 11 year old could ask for!
