MONDAY!

Our cute little Meg had a little problem on Friday at school. Her little friend had given her a pinewood regata. She took it to school along with a pocket knife (mini and broken)to carve her boat. Well, she got caught with her little weapon. Thus ending in being suspended from school on Monday. Poor kid, she has felt so bad. She kept telling us that she didnt take it to hurt anyone. She felt and feels terrible. So, I had my Megs home with me on Monday-

While she was home we worked on her diarama-

Mace called-forgot his lunch. I rushed to school and ended up with-

A TICKET! I have never been ticketed before! I have always been able to talk myself out of them! GRRRRrrrr-I was in a school zone going 32.
Not a fun Monday!

State Science Olympiad

Our Noah Webster Noble Knights Science Geeks. :-)
For the past (many months) few months we have been working with Mikayla and her partner Nathan on practicing and preparing for the State Science Olympiad. It was held this past Saturday at Weber State. Holy Cow what a day. We got up at 4:30 am and left Orem at 5:30. We thought our first event was at 9 am. Well there was a little mis-understanding our first event was not until noon. So Deborah (Nays mom) and I tried to not be too frustrated. Hey we were the first ones there. The kids competed in "Write it Do it". They said it was harder than they thought it would be. And then in the afternoon they did "Mystery Archetect". We waited around, ate, went to a movie, kids played games and ran around. Then we went to the awards ceremony. 90% of the teams competing were in Jr. High and High School. Our teams were 6th graders. So, when Mikayla and Nathan got the silver medal (second place) and a scholarship,we were thrilled for them. Yeah Mikayla and Nathan! You kids did great and we are so proud of you! We are hoping that they will get the chance to compete with each other again next year.

How would it be to be 11 and already have scholarships!

Mikayla's Busy Life

Holy Cow! Life never slows down if your name is Mikayla Scoresby! She has been preparing for months with her partner and one of her best buddies Nathan for the Science Olympiad in Ogden in a few weeks. Their catagories that they are competing in is "Write it Do it", and Mystery Archetect.

Here is a sampling of a tower they built in 43 minutes. It had to hold the mini soccer ball, standing 3 tiers high, and using only popcicle sticks and tape. They have to have their dimension and coordinates perfect or they get disqualified. They have lots of fun together. I find myself cracking up as I listen to them giggle and laugh at themselves.

Mikayla has been studying for months for the "State Spelling Bee". She was sick this past week with Strep and so she didnt get in as much studying as she wanted. She did well, and we are proud of her for even making it as far as she did. She was put out on the word--"Sukiyaki". Ok really this is an American Spelling Bee-what is up with the Japanese word? She had not a clue what Sukiyaki was. Her photo will be in Wednesdays Daily Herald.

*Fact: Her great grandmother won the spelling bee a LONG time ago.
Her Birthmother is a great speller.
She is very studious and diciplined. Great job sis!

Now we just have to get through this darn Wizard of Oz Play!
