Part 2 of "In the Leafy Tree Tops"

Mikayla and Erica took baby bird "Sam" back to the church where they found him on Sunday. On Monday after school, Erica calls Mikayla and "Sam" is still alive and is hungry. Erica takes it home and they spend the evening trying to feed him. I am sure Erica's mom is stressed at this point with a squawking baby! BUT starts feeding it cottage cheese-and Sam loves it! Monday night after dance Erica calls again and says that her parents are going to take Sam out of his misery. On Tuesday, Erica jaunts over to our house after school with bucket in hand and inside is baby bird Sam alive and flappin! So the girls feed him bread soaked in water. We decided that we needed to re-name Sam to "Rocky" because he is one little fighter and scrapper. Our bird savers are still working hard!

Here in Spokane, we are all pulling for little Rocky Sam to make it. Good Luck!

This story is so sweet. David is just like that, do you remember the goose we raised in our backyard because David found him with a broken leg and alone? I hope this little one survives.
Oh and the mudhole is hilarious too :)

Wow still alive and eating cottage cheese! Go figure. By the way- you have more patience than me about the mud pit. I think I would have freaked. But, good for you for having it inside you to take a picture and to be able to laugh about the whole thing!
