My favorite moments

You know, life dosent get better than this on a Sunday afternoon-for any afternoon for that matter. It is rare that I just get to veg and take in a little TV or a little snooze, but when it happens, it is great. AND it is even better when I get to snuggle up to my little buddy. Of course snuggling with the girlies is great too--but I just love that little guys snugglies! Its one of my favorite lifes pleasures.

First Day of School

We as mothers love it when summer comes, so that we can relax a little and play with the kiddies. BUT I think I speak for us all when I say that it is so great when its time to go back to school! This year was a little bit different for us. In the past our kids have gone to Reagan Academy in Springville. It was a great school, and we had such great experiences there. It has become to costly to drive there twice a day, and now potentially 3 times a day with our little Kindergartener Mace. So I began applying at other academy's for the kids. As of 2 weeks ago both girls got accepted to Noah Webster Academy here in Orem. WOOHOO! A prayer was answered--only 4 minutes from home. It brought our Mason up from #69 on the waiting list to #5. So we settled on him going back to Center Stage Kindergarten-because who dosent love Karate when you are 5?!

Well we went to back to school night on Monday night. The girls were so excited to meet their teachers and see their new classrooms. I just happened to go to the office to check to see if Mason had moved up the ranks or not--lucky for me I did. He got in that afternoon! SO they are all enrolled and attending NWA! I madly dashed around Monday evening looking for boy uniforms. I ended up finding a few, but will have to get the rest online. But hey we are in, and they are all together and life will be so much easier for me! I really felt like this was an answer to our prayers and a little tender mercy from up above.

We started school yesterday-both girls were so excited that they didnt go to sleep until after 11 pm. Megan slept in her uniform she was so excited. Mason started too. I cried as each of them went their very first day of Kindergarten-but nothing felt like yesterday as I sent my last little chick off from the nest. I didnt quite know what to do with myself. He is such a big boy, and my heart was relieved to know that he had a friend in his class that he knew from pre-school. They held hands and walked into school together.

Contest Update.

As you can see, my bloggin' wife hasn't posted since she made her Donny Osmond "shout" to everyone. So once again I feel obligated to keep all you readers updated. I guess the "shout" wasn't loud enough because she didn't win...(number #31 did)...and she has been moping around the house since the winner was announced this morning. For all of you who voted for her, "thanks!" For those of you who didn't, shame on you! (JK =)) Any comment that you can send to lift her spirits would be much appreciated. She REALLY wanted to win the contest. --Steve.

My Newest Hobby

I asked Ker multiple times to simply add my links to this blog, but since she hasn't, I have been forced to make my own post to "The Scoresby Scoop."

As my first post to the "The Scoresby Scoop" I thought I would let you know about my new hobby, internet marketing. Some of you may be familiar with my website, "Stevies Freebies" but now I have a new blog to go along with it! You can check out my blog here. Let me know what you think and feel free to add my sites to your favorites so you can check back now and then to see my progress.

Despite the naysayers out there, I think there is a real opportunity to tap into cash flowing through internet and I am going to be one who gets my fair share! I haven't cracked the code yet, but I sure have had fun learning to do it. Just to show you that I am making progress, "google" me by typing my name, "Steve Scoresby", into the google search engine. You'll be surprised and amazed, I think. I also show up in some of the other search engines such as Yahoo and MSN. Click on some of the links from your search to see my work from the past. I've learned that you won't make money overnight, but if you have patience and persistence in promoting your websites, you will make money over time.

Although I am not a "pro" yet (I still have tons to learn!) but if there is anyone out there who would like to get started and follow in my footsteps, I have hooked up with some great mentors who have taught me everything I know and I would love to share with you what I have learned and how I have done it so far. Just e-mail me to let me know what your interest level is or if you just have questions or whatever. I've got a lot of "free stuff" to get you started too! When I am making $10,000 per month on the internet, don't say I never invited you to join and learn too!

Last of summer adventures!

Packing in the Summer Fun

With days only left of summer, my kids and their friends are doing all they can to make the most of their last week of summer 07'. We have had a splendid time, and if you go back through my blogs the past few months, you will see all of the adventures of our crazy family. We have been blessed and fortunate to be together. We are anxiously awaiting on the embarkment of new adventures in the fall-where Mikayla will be training on the Jr.Prep dance team, and Megs will be training on the Pre-teen (yes I said Pre-teen) ballroom team, AND the Kidz Hip Hop squad-we will be back to piano lessons, soccer and swimming as well. I dont anticipate life to "Ever" slow down. But "busy" is good!

Here is the photo of our girls sleepover--love the makeovers, giggles, movies, giggles, manicures, giggles, and very little sleeping.

Happy 20 years for us today!

Ok so way back in the day- August 14, 1987-We were cute and young and in love. Now on August 14, 2007- We are still cute, old and in love. Quite a few pounds heavier and a lot of gray hair-oh and did I mention Steve sleeps with oxygen right now, and our joints ache a little more-But we are still in love, and that is the key to life. I just want you all to know that I am so happy to be married to Stevie! He is my best friend (still after 26 years!), and I am so glad that I have gotten to experience life with him. Thanks Steve for a great 20 years and here is to 20 more.

***I dont have any cute wedding photos done, because digital wasnt available in the dark ages, and besides you wouldnt recognize me with the big ol "Rexburg" hairdo, and you definately would have thought I married a teen-ager. LOL So here is a little of us this past year.

Treasure Hunters

-I am addicted! I admit it, I have an addiction to "geocaching". We go any chance I get. Our family has seen some pretty amazing sites this summer. Just this week I discovered a little lake here in Utah that I didnt know existed-in Highland! How crazy is that?! Then we discovered this way cool grotto/cave in American Fork canyon. It's been fun, memorable, and we have loved leaving a little bit of us all over Utah and Idaho this summer. Here are some photos of this past weeks adventure.

Our Newest family member

Well,as we have mourned the passing of our sweet tink-we have now added a little spitfire to the cage. Her name is "Lacie" if she ends up being a girl, If he ends up being a boy it is "Skeeter"-If you ask me, I think we should call it "Crash" as it flies like a maniac and hits the walls, windows and appliances. Scares me to death. I am hoping that this little fella lasts a month! Wheres my friend Camie when I need her to clip her wings?! (hint hint Cam) The important thing is Mikayla seems happier so we are being patient. Shes a cute bird though.

Idaho

Well I am way behind in my blogging, that is why I had to do the slide show to recap all the FUN! But let me just tell you about our exciting weekend! We went to Island Park for my annual "Preece" family reunion. My family rocks-just so you all know. I dont get to see my brothers and their families very often and so it was SO good to see them! We didnt get to see Dustin and Brandy though this time. :-(

We spent time 4-wheelin, waterskiing, geocaching, playing games, eating (well I might add), visiting and of course pranking all weekend.

On Friday we spent the majority of the day boating on the Island Park Reservoir. It is spectacular there, and the cabins on Bills Island are breathtaking. I think that it is one of the great skiing spots there is. Caden, Megan and I even tried our hand at swimming to the "Sunken Island" to try and find a geocache. We didnt have luck, but it was sure fun! Our Meg is a fish. We finally got Mikayla to knee board this year. She has been such a chicken that she would break a leg and not be able to dance. (go figure)
Our ski weekend was cut short---both Derek and Darrin hit rocks with their props and we were unable to use the boats. We were all sad!

SO, we went back and went 4-wheelin. Did I mention that Meg is a 4-wheelin maniac. She loves it! She had a little accident. Scared me to death! She ran into her cousin Bailey on her 4-wheeler and flipped over the top of her bike. SCARY! I was thankful she had a helmet on. She was bruised up a little, but not hurt. Thank goodness.

Later that evening, the kids all decided they wanted to go on a geo-cache. So of course Steve and I are always up for a geo adventure. It was dusk and we shouldnt have even gone--BUT we are suckers. So we drove in as far as we could. According to the coordinates we had to go about 200 yards. So we all jumped out of the van and headed up the mountain. A little ways in we were stopped in our tracks by this loud growl. Mikayla literally went white and you could see the fear in her face. All the kids screamed "Bear" and ran. Well, Mason froze! Steve picked him up, threw him over his shoulder and we RAN! All the kids were screaming and bawling and we couldnt get out of there fast enough. Another few minutes and we would have all been a bears dinner. We went up the next day to confirm that I wasnt crazy. So lesson #1 in Island Park-take a gun, or dont hike in bear country!

Saturday brought even more adventure as we all went to Yellowstone Park, and yes Old Faithful is still there blowing to this day. Steve and I spent the day in West Yellowstone though. We love it there, and it brought lots of memories back of our youth and dating, and growing up together.

Throughout the weekend the kids kept trying to catch chipmunks--well Uncle Dustin (Trish's) hubby-helped the kids finally rig a trap that actually worked. He caught a chipmunk in a box and brought it in the house. Well that chipmunk apparently didnt like 15 kids looking at him and he took a flying leap out of the box--hitting Mikayla and Jack on his way out. And scampered through the house trying to find his way out. OMG-can we say scream all over again! It was so funny to watch everyone scream and scamper all over the place. I wish I had had my video camera with me.

Then the big storm hit-knocking power lines down. Do you think we were prepared? NOT! Well Derek and Dustin went into town to buy lanterns (because we were 3 levels of pitch black, and 24 people!). They came back unbeknownst to anyone. Snuck up the deck and scared the crap out of all of us. So the screams came once again. We could have killed them!

Sunday we went to Big Springs and fed the trout and said our goodbyes for another year. I thought that last years reunion was the best, but we keep topping them. I am glad for such an awesome family who loves me and my family, because we sure love them! Thanks mom and dad!

Mason's GREAT day!

This was a great day for our Mason! It was a dream come true for a little boy of 5! We spent the day together as a family at Raging Waters, where he ran us ragged. Boy he is like the energizer bunny. After hours in the sun, we raced home and prepared him and Steve for the Father and Sons Campout. He had the best time with his daddy and friends from our ward. Steve took this shot as Mason fell asleep in the tent. Nothing like seeing a happy face at the end of the day. He literally went to sleep with a smile on his face.
