More Easter Festivities
We have had such a fun Easter this season! I have done more crafts and activities with the fam than I ever have in the past. It has been so much fun. Although I hate them growing up, I love that they are older and can do FUN things. Yesterday we had a riot! We did a big Easter Party at our house with my family. We started out with a crack off. We had two rounds. One for the kids and One for the adults. I might add that everyone loved it, and wants to do it again.
The big winner for design went to Malerie-with Mr. Froggie
The biggest "Qwacker" who was cracked first was Brooke
and the over all winner who went clear through the loser bracket to win Mikayla was little Carson!
Way to go Cars!
Then the adults cracked off-
The big winner for design was Cherie- she made her egg into Heff. It was hilarious-he rolled naked!
The Biggest Quacker who was cracked out first was Troy! Sorry Troy!
and the overall winner was me! My little bunny egg won!
It was freakin raining, so we ate a great Easter meal-thanks to all of the fabulous cooks!
Luckily I planned for rain-I had crafts for all of the kids to do, and both the Wii and play stations were going. Here is the cute easter chick craft that we had. Kids did a great job and worked on them all afternoon.
How cute is that !
I also had cute jelly belly bracelets that all of the girls made too.
We also had a big indoor egg hunt too. It was fun! Not my beautiful backyard-but it was fun. My kids love being with their cousins so it made for a fabulous day. Everyone got eggs, games, food, family, fun, and a full tum! Life does not get much better!
Troy and Trina- relaxing just a little too much!
I also made my own Marshmallow Easter Eggs! EASY and way better than the store bought! Holy Cow, I vow to never buy a chocolate marshmallow Easter Egg from a store again!
Mikayla tried her hand at chocolate molds. She loved it!
The Easter Bunny came and brought some fun stuff too-but my kids went through it before I was even up this morn, so there are no photos from Easter Morning. Oh well, its been a fun weekend.

Happy Birthday to me!
My birthday this year was very low key. I have decided that it is hard to celebrate during the week when you have kiddies that need to be here, there and everywhere. I didnt do to much. My friend Julie gave me a lovely gift.
Yes an "At Home Face Lift Kit"-hmmm, should I be offended? Do I look that bad at 42?
Spackle, a knife, sandpaper, peroxide, a sharpie, tylenol (for pain), and bandages---hmmmm, cant wait for your birthday Julie!
Steve and Mace sang to me, as Mikayla was babysitting and Megs fell asleep. So pretty quiet on the homefront.

The Wizard of Oz
Yesterday Mikayla made her debut as "Glenda the Good Witch" from the Wizard Of Oz. The 6th graders did their play for the student body and parents. They did a great job, and of course Mikayla was perfect for her part. (the little stinker wanted to be stage crew!)
She had a great time and I think that all of her complaining was forgotten as everyone cheered the beautiful witch.
Here is Nathan, Eric and Kayla--good buddies.

Conference Weekend
It did not turn out like I had planned. I had this grandious idea that I would set up a tent downstairs and have snacks and conference packets a heater (in liu of a fire) etc. Pull out the sleeping bags, pillows, and blankets. And pretend that we were listening to the prophet just like the people in King Benjamins time (hence the pitching of tents). Yeah well two of my children blew it. They were naughty and disruptive and did NOT want to participate. Infact on Saturday they snuck out of the basement window to play "quietly" in the back yard. They fought and yelled and were like Lamen and Lemuel. I was mad by the second session of the 1st day. So I sent them to their rooms. Sunday comes--nope, no such luck. They shredded my tent! I was too mad to take photos. So next conference-they can sit quietly by me for 8 hours and suffer! Oooh Im bitter. On a good note, I did love conference.
After Conference we went up to cousin Kims and had our monthly family home evening and dinner. We had a surprise birthday party for my Aunt Laura.
Steve and Troy- snitching into the ham!
Aunt Laura and Mick
Crazy girls- Beans, Lala, Brookie the Cookie, and Nut Meg
THE PREECE GIRLS!
A Kim and Ker sandwich! (Trina's face got scrunched!)
The kiddies love to party!
Family- it's great to be a part of one!

Crack Off 2009
We held our first annual "Crack Off" last night. It was a riot. Last year our good friends the Caziers introduced us to the Easter Egg Crack off. We had such a blast that we decided that we would add it to our ever growing list of family traditions. AND because you are only invited back to defend your title...so we had to start our own. Thanks Maleenie for the great tradition.
Our crack off started with our friends the Aflac "Renegades. They each brought 3 decorated, hard boiled Easter Eggs. They drew for bracket placement and entered each egg with its name.
Some of our Eggs included- Bubbles, "Bareak Obama", Peanut (From Jeff Dunham), Flipper, Happy, Carribbean Crusher, BYU, the Aflac Duck, Di-eggo. We had 27 entered.
Before the cracking began, we gave each person a voting sheet that they had to vote for their top 3 favorite eggs. (cant vote for your own!)
Our winner was "Flipper" by Julie. She decorated hers in a bikini, and flippers,
and goggles.
There was a three way tie for second place.
Aflac duck, Peanut, and Boots.
Let the cracking begin. We had a double elimination bracket. Unfortunately Justin was put out early. He recieved the "Quaked" award. A little chocolate duck-for "Quaking" all of his eggs first. Sorry Justin!
Did you know that if two eggs roll into one another, only one will crack? I know you wanted that knowledge stored in your brain. Hey it may come in handy.
Our winner for the evening was James. His Egg "Frenchie" won! Good Job James! You are invited back next year to defend your title!

Im on a crafting surge!
So, I have rediscovered my love for crafting. For the past seven years I have done nothing but teach and focus on my love for scrapbooking and card making and paper crafting.Dont get me wrong folks-that is still after 23 years my favorite passion (besides Stevie wonder buns), but I forgot how much I LOVE to do crafts. I have found myself blog stalking for crafty ideas and Easter fun. So thank you to my cousin Shays blog and idea for these fun, cute easter eggs. My family will enjoy them for years to come-PLUS Meg and I had a riot making them together (she is my artsy fartsy child) and she loved every second of it.
