Mikayla's Busy Life

Holy Cow! Life never slows down if your name is Mikayla Scoresby! She has been preparing for months with her partner and one of her best buddies Nathan for the Science Olympiad in Ogden in a few weeks. Their catagories that they are competing in is "Write it Do it", and Mystery Archetect.

Here is a sampling of a tower they built in 43 minutes. It had to hold the mini soccer ball, standing 3 tiers high, and using only popcicle sticks and tape. They have to have their dimension and coordinates perfect or they get disqualified. They have lots of fun together. I find myself cracking up as I listen to them giggle and laugh at themselves.

Mikayla has been studying for months for the "State Spelling Bee". She was sick this past week with Strep and so she didnt get in as much studying as she wanted. She did well, and we are proud of her for even making it as far as she did. She was put out on the word--"Sukiyaki". Ok really this is an American Spelling Bee-what is up with the Japanese word? She had not a clue what Sukiyaki was. Her photo will be in Wednesdays Daily Herald.

*Fact: Her great grandmother won the spelling bee a LONG time ago.
Her Birthmother is a great speller.
She is very studious and diciplined. Great job sis!

Now we just have to get through this darn Wizard of Oz Play!
