When Dad is away...

Mason gets to play. Yep, our Dad went to Vegas for a business trip this last month. The kidd-os wanted to grill some chicken, and Mason took over Steve-o's job. He watches his Dad grill all the time, and now was a perfect time for him to slip into his Dads shoes. He did a great job I might add.

Yeah Its back to school time!

Im not gonna lie, this summer has been a difficult one. Dont get me wrong, its been fun and we have done a LOT of fun things. It has been hard juggling mine and Steves schedules so that these two do not have to be at home alone too much!

They have a LOVE/HATE relationship. They get a long when they want and the fight like cats and dogs most of the time. So yeah-school is back in session.
Megs went to Junior High for the first time this past week. She is our socialite. She didnt even need me at her back to school night. She saw her friends and left me and Mikayla in the dust. I am glad that Mikayla likes having me around. We are a little freaked out that she is in Junior High-but are hopeful that she will have a successful/fun experience. She loves not wearing uniforms anymore, and she loves that she can have a choice for lunch, not to mention lockers, friends and BOYS!

Mace is my only Elementary kid. We love his teacher and feel that he got the BEST 4th grade teacher in the school. He is excited to be back into the swing of things.

La-well I didnt get a photo of her because on back to school day she didnt have to go-so I was negligent. She is a Freshman! Where does the time go? Really? a Freshman! She was excited to be back with her friends, and laugh and giggle and hang out with all of her besties. She likes being the oldest in the school and calling her sister a "sevy". She loves seminary and loves to learn. So yeah, the mommy is happy we are back to a routine.

Fete 2011

Yes it is again time for our "Fete" celebration. This was our 3rd annual Fete day. As a re-cap 4 years ago, our friends the Caziers introduced us to a Holiday called Fete. It has become a favorite family tradition.

A little background about Fete. Fete means to celebrate. August is the only month on the calendar year that does not have a holiday. So the Caziers made up "Fete". We love it. Rules of Fete (as I know them-but if you start Fete, you can make up your own rules): Can be any day in August, a color is chosen to center Fete around, and you can do any activity you want.

This is "Fete 2011"-
It was held August 27th
Our color this year was ORANGE.
We invited our Scoresby cousins.

We went bowling at Fat Cats!
The kids had a super uber fun time!

Even the adults had a blast!

Garrett was the BEST bowler!

We then went back to our house and had a BBQ. We had orange soda, orange salads, orange chips, orange desserts, and hot dogs and hamburgers. It was yummy!

We had water balloon toss's with-yep, orange water balloons.
We played Minute to Win it and the Team "Orange Creamcicles" Won!

Team Creamcicles won Reeses peanutbutter cups.
Team Fabulous Fete Fighters were at a close 2nd winning Fruit snacks for next years energy.
Team Tigers took 3rd winning orange airheads.
The guessing jars were won by La and Ri.
Our King and Queen of Fete were voted upon and presented with a crown-Miss Cadie Scoresby, and Mister Mason Scoresby. They were showered with gifts and with silly string.

We ended the night with our orange gift exchange. Lots of fun gifts given and recieved.
Fete 2011 was a success! Thank you Scoresby family for the Best Fete yet!

Well its official....I am a blog slacker.

Why do I do this? Maybe my life is too busy to blog--yet I love blogging and I LOVE printing my blog into a book every year because it is such a fabulous family journal. So here I go AGAIN-committing to blog more often.

Yes the Scoresby family colored easter eggs this year. We did not however do our annual crack off. Why you ask? Because Mommy and Mikayla and Megs were busy travelling with the dance circuit. But we love our dancer!

We did go to Aunt Kims house for a fabulous Easter dinner, games and Easter Egg hunt.

These cuties make me happy!

Brandon and Cheries family, Mick and Trina's family, our family and Kim and Troys family were all there. A fabulous time was had by all.
