Granny Panties

So I needed a little laughter in my life. This post is solely for me and for a good chuckle. The count down is on, I am one week away from a major surgery. I have been madly trying to get things done (at a slow pace)so that my mama and Stevie wonder buns can take over for 10 days.

Here is how the story plays out. Steve and I go to Wal-mart to pick up a few things, and I decide that "hey I need some new jammie bottoms to wear around that are loose fitting etc."-Besides, I don't want to run around for the next 5-6 weeks in my undies. Mind you the selection at Wal-Mart is "HUGE!" (j/k). I then decide I will also need some new undies. Again I will need something loose fitting for awhile and well what I have just wont cut it. Hmmmmm how long has it been since I bought grandma panties----Um NEVER! So, I am kind of hurrying and not really looking at the packages closely because Walmart is totally different than say Victorias Secret or Dillards etc. I see my size (at least thats what I think I am seeing), and decide to go up a size (so they are looser on me-as this is a very temporary thing!)So I bring my (5 pack) undies home. Proud that I spent only $6.93 (roll back prices) only to find this-----

Hmmmm---attractive dont you think!

Needless to say, we all laughed our "Granny Fannies" off, and these Granny Panties are going back to Wal-Mart.

Perma Grin!

Well for me right now, it has been so frustrating to not be able to be working out. I feel like all I do is stare at the four walls surrounding me! Grrrr... Yesterday was such a beautiful day and seriously for the entire day, my bike was calling to me. I was dying inside-I wanted to be out riding. I just wanted to feel the wind on my face. So all afternoon I debated whether to go ride for a few minutes or not. Afterall, I am getting stronger and better everyday. I finally gave in to good common sense and reality. I decided to wait until Steve got home. BUT---he made my whole day! He rode with me. YES!!! I got on my bike and rode. Although it was a only a few blocks, and I was tired, it felt great! My quads were just so excited to be back on the move! My whole day was made, and I have 12 more days until I will start the journey to recovery again, so I plan on riding some more- and yes it will be with someone, and I promise NO HILLS! I have a new goal too- I will be back in the gym riding and training for next year by the end of October. Watch and wait---it will happen.

Dancing Under The Stars

This is a great way to end your summer! Both Mikayla (who will be dancing both nights) and Megan (who will be dancing on Saturday night) will be doing the Pre-show. This show will be incredible. Call Scera Shell today! Get your tickets! We would love to see you there!

First Day of School

School Started Monday! It was a sad day for me. I love having my kids home with me, and I have loved having a little co-pilot hanging out with me for the past 6 years. Yep, he was off to school. Boy he was ready! He was excited and eager and couldn't wait. Me-I was teary the whole way home from dropping them off.
Mikayla is the oldest at the academy. She is in 6th grade.
Megan is smack in the middle-She is in 4th grade.
Mason is the baby- 1st grade.

Needless to say, it is too quiet around here!

"Fete Day"

What is "Fete Day" you ask. Well, our good friends the Caziers (sorry to post before you Maleen-I waited) apparently started this holiday 4 years ago. (*Note Maleen and I must have been like sisters at some point-we both love to party and be creative--love ya Maleen!) August is the only month in the calendar year that does NOT have a traditional holiday. Most people would say "Yeah! A break!" Not our Maleen. She is like me---she likes to have any occassion to party! She and Tyler started "Fete Day". In French it means "Party Day". So we partied. They invited us to their "Fete". So a color was chosen. We all had to wear "PURPLE". (*Donny Osmond loves purple--I was happy for this color choice) We also had to draw names of everyone coming to the Fete Party. We then bought gifts under $5 in the color purple for that person. OK so let me just say, that was FUN! I was laughing my head off the entire shopping trip. Let's just say there was some creativity.
We met at the bowling alley and went bowling--
Here are the Scoresby Strikers! WOOHOO- dont you love the purple tye dyed shirts, and the Purple Bowling balls!

We had a great time, and I WON! I have never beat Steve in bowling. I was crowned the Queen bowler! Now mind you, Steve and Maleen were my main competition, as I think Mikayla and Erica both beat the Raging Stallion. It was FUN! Our family loved it!

Love the Purple crown!

We then went to the Caziers and ate dinner and dessert and opened our fun purple gifts!

Steve especially loved his homemade cinnamon rolls with purple frosting on them.

Such a fun new tradition, and we can't wait to do it again next year.
Fete Day- August 16th (or there abouts)

Thanks Tyler and Maleen! You guys rock! xoxox

Last Days of Summer Break

Where has summer gone?! It has been a breeze by for the Scoresby family. Sheesh. This past week my cousin Kim called and wanted us to go hang with them at this little creek. It was nothing fancy, but the kids played for hours in the water. I am now a believer that all kids need is a little water, a few rocks, and sticks and they can be entertained at any age.

I could not tell you where this creek was-I do know it was somewhere in Pleasant Grove. But the kids spent hours making a dam.

Meg was the pack horse of the group. She was hauling rock and big ol' branches.

Here are all of the cousins- Brooke, Sabina, Malerie, and Paige. Carson, Kali, Mikayla, Meg and Mace. We are so lucky to have cousins close by.

My cousins- Trina, Kim and I just gellin out watching the kids play.

"Bare" Lake Reunion 2008

Every year my family has a family reunion. We usually go to a different location each year, and it has always been a BLAST! Infact, I pretty much think I have a GREAT family! I have the cutest nieces and nephews, and awesome brothers and and sisters-and my parents, they are pretty great too. Well this year we decided to go to "Bear Lake". Yeah this place pretty much rocks! We had the BEST time! Everyone got along great, and the consenses was that this was the official site of the "Preece Reunion!"

The weekend started off with a little skiing before it rained.

Here is a shot of my brother Derek wake boarding.

Geo Caching was a huge hit! We found all 4 caches!

The kids made this HUGE sandcastle with moat around it and a hot tub in the middle. It was incredible. Thanks to all the adult sand shovelers I am sure.

Relaxing on the beach! Dosent get better than that!

My cute boy Mason!

There were Vampires and Werewolfs at our cabin this year. "Breaking Dawn" was the hit book brought this year. Including Grandma and Brooke.....sheesh!

Songs were sung "Who Rocks the Cabin", and Ride that pony--all of the cute Preece kids were singing them all weekend.

It was Raspberry Days, so there were parades, vendors, fireworks, dancing in the street. Yah it was FUN! If you want more photos of this AWESOME event go to the "Preece Lightning" site and see photos of Grandma knee boarding!
