That wonderful Man in My Life

My sister in law Kristel tagged me-so here goes!

I do have to say though that I do have the most wonderful man in the world. He is perfect for me. He has been so awesome to take care of me the past 3 months. He has cried, laughed, and rejoiced with me for 26 years. We have been through a ton in our life time together, but there is no one I would rather be with than my Steve. I love you babe!

What's your husband's name? Stephen Layne Scoresby

How long have you been married? Too long! Just kidding! - 21 years

How long did you date? We dated for 5 years before we got married (minus the 2 years he was on his mission). I waited, but really dated more -I mean really, come on! We joke that we went through puberty together.

How old is he? 43

Who eats more sweets? He does, but we both have a chocolate addiction!

Who said "I Love You" first? He is insistant that it was him. He said I wouldn’t say it until he did first. For crying out loud it was before his mission! But I love him more!

Who is taller? Steve. At one time, I was a little taller than him though.

Who is a better singer? Um... ME!.

Who is smarter? Depends on the topic. But he will say he is smarter.

Who does the laundry? Me–are you kidding! I think he has only done laundry three times in 21 years.

Who pays the bills? Steve-o

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me.

Does he snore? UM YES! Like a chainsaw! I now sleep with Darth Vadar as he wears a C-Pap so that the whole fam can sleep. (Although I am suffering from insomnia now so sleep is not an option in my world).

What does he do in his spare time? He loves to watch movies, play risk 2010, play online games.

Who mows the lawn? We hire it out! He hasn't mowed in 4 years!.

What is his favorite candy bar? He likes anything chocolate.

Who cooks dinner? I do, although he is always good to help out and has a few of his own specialties that he cooks for us. He is also the master BBQer!

Who drives? Steve does when we travel. I take a dramamine and wrangle the kiddies. But normally I am the dance taxi mom.

Who is the first to say they are wrong? We both pretty much do it! But he is really good at admitting when he is wrong, I am a little more stubborn.

Who kissed who first? He did- At the door when I was 16! Aw!

Who asked who out first? Steve-but how could he not, I would not leave him alone. I always found an excuse to be with him and all of his senior friends.

Who wears the pants? This is a LOL question. We are both the oldest children in our families and so this had been a struggle for us for a LONG time. Now we take turns being large and in charge.

Does he say he loves you every day? Yes he does! I love you Stevie Wonder Buns!

In return the people I tag are: Sheri, Jane, Deanne and Jenna

Dutch Babies

The holidays are about traditions. As I have been thinking about all of the fun things we do during the holidays, I am reminded of a tradition that happens nearly every week! "Dutch Babies"! Steve makes these german pancakes for our family almost every Sunday. He has become a pro at it! The kids love them! They eat them with powdered sugar and syrup and think its quite the treat. They groan when I make them, as mine are in the squat and flat. I guess I will leave this dish up to Steve!

A Friday Gift

OK so I have a "smart-alec" for a hubby. Because of the severity of all of the fun menopause issues I am going through, Stevie Wonder Buns thought it would be funny to get me a gift that would help in my demise. So, I now am the owner of hand fans. Straight from Korea! Nice huh! Yeah he is so funny, needless to say I did not laugh to loud. Dont tell him that I secretly use them!
Did I mention, I cant wait for the SNOW!

Hallows Eve

Our family loves Halloween. We usually host a big neighborhood party a few days before the event for neighbors and friends, but this year-I just couldnt do it,but we have definate plans for next year!

It ended up being a packed fun day for everyone. I was "Exhausted" and had to take several breaks. (*I cant wait to be back to 100%!)

The day started off with class parties. The kids dressed up and had all kinds of fun in their classes.

I then took a huge carload of kids to Provo to Trick or Treat on their Center Street business Event. It was pretty much fun. That is where I got worn out, and had to take a breather.

We made sugar cookies, and had our usual chili for dinner.
Our spooks then went out to haunt the neighborhoods.

Mikayla insisted on being a "Nice Witch"....She would not even wear any make up. She was cute!

Meg was the queen of Bats (I have no idea what that is, but then changed to a vampiress).

Mace was a Vampire as well. He loved being scarry. We went through a haunted house. He loved it! He went twice. I ran out, and Mikayla never made it through. He must be a boy! He loved the chainsaws!

I was a vampire too---Mace and I had fun teaming up!

Our Spooks!

Ane here is Steve the "Party Poop"-who only took the kids out to a few houses, and took the job of answering the doors. Oh well someone has to do it!
We had a fun evening and I am quite certain it will take a few days on my part to re-coop, and for the kids to come off of a sugar high!

Fall Festivities

It is so good to be out doing things again! I'm a little slow but it is good! Last week I went with the first graders to Hee Haws in Pleasant Grove. Mace had a great time, and LOVED the slide. His favorite part was feeding the goats. His favorite story is the "Three Billy Goats Gruff" so he was in heaven feeding the biggest goat!

The girls have been bugging me to go to Pumpkin Land to get their pumpkins and walk through the corn maze. We have done this every year since Mikayla was a little girl. It's fun, and the kids love it, and I have the same pictures every year. The kids are just older. I dont so much love pumpkinland. I think it is run down and there are mice running around everywhere. (yeah I know its a farm--but it could be kept up a little. Even Mikayla commented on how bad she felt for some of the animals) We had fun though, and the kids picked out some great pumpkins.

Last night we spent the evening carving our pumpkins. We really had a great time this year. The kids are getting older, and they all cleaned out their pumpkins. Even Mikayla. They all carved their faces too. We were amazed at Meg, she is so creative and focused. We cant wait to light them up in a few nights.

Mikayla hates pulling out the guts!

Mason loves the guts!

Creativity only happens in moms craft room! LOL

NYCDA

This past weekend Mikayla and I went to the NYCDA regionals in Salt Lake City. This was her first time to ever compete in this competition. The teams have been working hard and their hard work paid off. All of their pieces qualified for New York this summer. Our Teen and Senior companies rocked the house! Mikayla and her team (Junior Company) danced with the Teens and Seniors in a Production number. It was so awesome. They got a platinum score! YEAH! Center Stage has some really awesome talent. I know that we are so glad that she has gotten the training and opportunities she has. So I guess we are off to New York for a week in July. She is sooooo excited. Center Stage Dancers and Directors--you did AWESOME!

One of Mikayla's goals was to make Junior company!

Another Goal or Mikaylas was to dance at NYCDA!

And her big goal was to get to go to New York with this awesome team!

Tuesday Gifts

Many years ago-back in the day. Some of our best friends (Dave and Sher)lived by us. We hung out all the time. Some of my funnest and funniest memories of my early married life are with Dave and Sher. So this story is dedicated to my good friend Dave Hone....I came home on Tuesday to find a gift. It was mixing spoons.

Ok, so I thought that this was random. And mixing spoons as a gift? So, I said to Stevie Wonder Buns-"Whats up with the spoons?" He said it was a Tuesday gift. I laughed and laughed at the memory of Dave.

See Dave used to give Sher gifts randomly. Monday gift, Yom Kippor, Ash Wednesday, Saturday gift. Kind of cool huh. Just little RAK (Random Acts of Kindness). So my question is now that 15 years have passed, I wonder if Dave still does his Tuesday gifts, and I am hoping that Steve will continue to surprise me with Tuesday gifts. They are very thoughtful, and put a smile on my face.

*I did make a mistake though. On Wednesday the spoons were still in the package, and he was highly offended I had not taken his Tuesday gift seriously. So, note to self---put those gifts to use immediatly.
