Spring Break Begins!

Monday! We had my cutie niece Brit with us for the night and day. We decided to teach her how to geo-cache, and I think she really liked it. We found all 4 of them. She found one herself.

Spying the geo-cache in a small hole by the river

Opening the cache, and enjoying the thrill of the find.

Birthday Mania at my house!

The past few years, I have been on a major trip during my birthday. It's been great because I havnt had to deal with the hoop-la. Really the only thing I do is spend an afternoon with my friend Cheri-This tradition has gone on now for 20 years!

So being that we did not travel this year-I was here! I tried not to make a big deal out of my birthday-BUT it ended up being very high profile! Thanks Stevie Wonder Buns!

My day started by going to the gym bright and early. I was suppose to pick Deanne up. She DOGGED me- or so I thought! She was at the gym arranging a cool card and a little birthday fun. I left with silly string in my hair-and the festivities had begun!

At 7:00 my dad called me-I got my birth story. Always a treat. Its the same every year. Never changes. Thanks Dad

Shortly after that-it hit me with full force. Un beknownst to me a Birthday Calling Tree had begun. Steve had called a few people and told them to call me to wish me a happy birthday. They were to call a few people and they were to call a few people and so on and so on.

I was surprised that all of these friends of mine were calling me and their kids. Then my sister in law in Arizona called. (that was random to me-we dont talk often on the phone, but I was excited she called), then a cousin I only talk to once a year called to wish me Happy's. I was shocked, then the phone just wouldnt stop! I was going crazy. I couldnt even get in the shower! What was happening. There was not a clue at this point as to what was happening--until my friends mom in Soda Springs Idaho called me. She spilled the beans! I immediately called Steve-STEVE MAKE IT STOP! He laughed and responded by saying, "Sorry, there is no stopping it!"

It was nice getting all of the calls-half of them I didnt have a clue who they were, but the singing was great. So for those of you who called me,texted me, wrote on my face book, emailed me, or sent e cards THANK YOU!

If I was "queen" for just one day!

* Please note that I am singing that song in my head right now. Saturday we spent the day at a competition with Mikayla. It was the "Gotta Move" comp at UVU. It was actually a good comp. I liked it because it was so organized and there was enough space for the girls to dance. Grandma Preece came to watch. Mikayla did great! Her and Jill did their duo in the morning and did so great! They took "Queen" which is best over-all in their catagory. We were so proud of them! That afternoon they competed as teams, and did great. Jr. Preps recieved two first places (Crying, and Proud Mary), and a second place (Dream Girls).

Some of the responses of the day were:

-Jill called her Dad to tell her she got "Queen", and he said "What, you got creamed!"
-"Queenie boppers"

Anyways, it was a fun day. Center Stage did awesome! All of the hip hop teams did great! AND our director Cassie Ford got "BEST Choreography!" WTG Cassie!, We got "Best Sportsmanship", And High Points for our studio! Yeah teams of Center Stage!

Miracles Do Happen!

It's true. I am actually enjoying Mason's soccer season! Yes I have proof that he is actually playing this season. AND he is loving it! The last two sessions, I have been mortified. He was totally not in the game. He was running around with his shorts and shirt over his head, chasing butterflies, checking out sprinkler heads, peeing on trees (yes it is true! ask me if I was mortified). I was so frustrated. I had to be drug to games by Stephen, as it was my motherly duty to go watch him play (or not!). It seemed that he was there to eat snacks and embarrass me! Steve was extrememly frustrated with me because I just was dying that he wouldnt play. Afterall, I have champion dancers-I needed a champion soccer son. I was reminded by several of my friends and Stephen that he is only 5! I was reassured over and over again that he would get it. Guess what---they were right, he is getting it, and he is playing soccer. So I am enjoying watching Mace out on the soccer field, and he is doing great! Go Mace Go!

Getting into the game!

And the Dance goes on....and on....and on...

Megs had another dance comp this weekend. They debut'their new dance. "Witch Doctor" from Alvin and the Chipmunks. I can confidently say that it was awesome! It was a darling dance. The kids did a super job and their costumes were great. Miss Auti has done a great job with these kids. It's been fun to watch them grow over the years. This particular dance was great because they went from the "jive" right into some hip hop! It was great. The crowd loved it and of course the judges always love our kids! Whats not to love! LOL

The Nicest Kids In town....

My darn camera was not working right! So the photos ended up dark. These photos are from "Witch Doctor".

We feel very fortunate to have our girls train at a great studio. Center Stage Utah! They have the best teachers and directors. Thanks Auti, Savannah, Cassie and Brandy!

The Last chapter of Easter 2008

We had such a packed weekend, that three posts on Easter is just plain CRAZY! Sunday was a beautiful spring day. It seems you never know what kind of weather you are going to get from year to year living in Utah. But Easter Sunday was gorgeous! We woke up to another egg hunt by the Easter Bunny. The kids had a great time finding their baskets and goods. We spent the rest of the morning and afternoon at church, which was wonderful.

Later that afternoon we did our "Big Easter" tradition. Every year for as long as I can remember-or for as long as I have been married, we have always done Easter with our best friends the Ereksons. We went to their home and had a splendid Easter Feast. Thanks Ash! You rock as a cook! Then we did the "Egg Hunt". Let me just start by saying that if my kids miss Easter at Aunt Ri's house-it's like freakin cutting their arms off.

I don't know how long this tradition has gone on, and I don't really know who started it-because I remember doing it in our early married years as college kids. I think it started with Cheri's parents Claudia and Dennis. Now we just do it for the kids. But hundreds of eggs are filled. Half with money and half with candy.

Mason was a mad man this year! He went crazy! He found 27 eggs, and collected $18. Now Zac and Juli (Cheri's married kids) together only hit $19! So a little 6 year old getting more was not cool! The older kids were "ROBBED!" Really, they all had a great time. Megan was all about the money, and basically ignored anything that sounded like jelly beans, and Mikayla-well she is happy doing whatever. It was such a fun day, and so good to see my cute nephews Zac and Chrisper-and of course its always good to be with the girls. Mom and Dad Logue were there to celebrate the festivities with us as well. Thanks Dave and Ri'for always including us in your fam!

Mikayla and Brit

Megs dashing for the cash!

My cute Chrisper and his weird friend Tex.

Zac looking for the cash!

OK so Cheri is looking for the eggs she hid in the flowers. The funny thing is, is that she was so mad at me and Claudia last year because we couldnt remember everywhere we hid the eggs. We came up $1 short. Freakin Cheri was missing $10! LOL. Love ya Ri'!

Funny Moments of the Day:-Playing curses--Juli, Ashley and Tex rocked. Zac basically was put out first.
-Seeing their dog CeeCee (who was in heat) in a doggie diaper.
-Talking with Les (now that is always a funny experience-regardless the day!)
-Watching Cheri try and find all of her lost eggs-sorry Ri' the gardners will get a bonus. Still LOL
