Playin a little catch up-

Life just passes by so fast! Sheesh! I just wanted to post a few things I wanted to remember since this is my journal!
Mikayla has been busy dancing like crazy! LOVES it-still! She just started taking ballroom and LOVES it. I am surprised as she has never wanted to do ballroom in 10 years of dancing. It is fun to watch Meg and her "jive" together. She has picked it up quick and I suspect that she will be competing next season. So stay tuned.

*She is also preparing for the state spelling bee....If I never see another spelling word again, it will be tooooooo sooooon!

*She is preparing for the state Science Olympiad in March too. Crazy girl. She is partnered with Nathan. They are doing "Write it Do it", and "Mystery Archetecture". I think they will rock at it.

*She just tested for the "ALL" program for Junior High--Acellerated Learning. Four hour test that fried her brain as she puts it.

*She is memorizing lines for her first play where she will debut as "Glenda the Good witch from the Wizard Of Oz. (She is bitter! She did not want to be in the play, she wanted to be the stage crew)

*She got straight A's this term
*She plays the piano too--and is beginning to LOVE it!
*She loves babysitting whenever she gets the chance.

*She has discovered Facebook

Here is a photo of the team after tryouts for stadium of fire.
Megan:
She is just as busy. She has been dancing her pants off too. She still loves it, and wants to get back into the jazz classes this next year.

She keeps busy 3 days a week with Swim team.

She is a girl scout now! Loves all of the extra fun activities that go with it!
She plays the piano and loves her teacher Becca but I think really loves to go just to see Beccas kids.
She is getting good grades too!

Macer: Well this time of year is slow for him. He cant wait for soccer to start. He has been taking swim lessons, and he is my co-pilot. He has to go everywhere with me because he cant stay home alone. He loves our bird Pez,

and loves to play in the snow and loves to tease his sisters. Did I mention that that boy is LOUD!

He has been with me too much I think, as the other day we all got in the van to go somewhere and he said to Steve-"Dad turn on the air conditioner, I am having a hot flash"! Nice my son is meno-pausal.
*He loves Ramen and can cook it himself

He got straight A's and his teacher loves him. He has gotten the "Noble Knight" award 6 times this year. Way to go Mace!

Steve and I- we are good. Just tired!

Pez

Birds at the Scoresby home---A few years ago we had a great little bird named "Tink". Tink died a very tragic death. Death by microwave. Yes it was a sad day in the life of Mikayla as her brother zapped her little pet in efforts to try and warm him up after playing hide and seek with him in the fridge.

Last Year we replaced Tink with a little bird named Lacie. She was cute and all, but she bit hard! She was not fun for the kids at all. We tried to give Lacie a companion-Samson-He too ended up being a dud. As all he did was sit in a corner. He would not let the kids play with him either. These two dumb birds were not worth the mess they made daily.

So, we moved. What a great time to get rid of the birds! Yes we gave them to the pet store for a whole $4. They are probably still sitting at Animal Ark homeless because they were so dumb.

Our friends Mindy and Tracy got us a new bird for Christmas. We did not get him until a few weeks ago, as he was only born on Dec. 7th. He was hand fed, and he is the sweetest thing in the world. His name is Pez or "Pezzer" as the kids call him. But he LOVES me! Oh my goodness, he makes little sounds like a puppy to get me to hold him. He rides my shoulder throughout the house, and he mimics two different whistle sounds I make. Freaks Steve out, because he cant tell our whistles apart. The kids noses are bent out of shape because Pez loves me best. He hates the cage, and loves to wander around the house. (this does not happen un-supervised-I hate bird poop!) Steve calls me the "bird whisperer". Pez thinks he is a pup. I tease my friends that he is a "Lap Bird"-so you will probably see me driving around with a bird on my shoulder this summer.

Hey this bird rocks-he is a scrapbooker in training!

Checkin out my inks.

Pez, Meg and Ker

Pezer loves people food! Crazy bird!

My little buddy.

Why a bird and not a dog, cat or horse? Well Mikayla is allergic to EVERYTHING! So poor little thing can only have a bird or a fish...so fish are dumb.

They continually amaze me!

How grateful we are for the studio that our daughters go to. Our girls have danced at Center Stage now for almost 10 years! (Dont tell Steve how much he has accumulatively spent there) We have traveled and competed all over. The experiences our girls have had has been un-real to them in their short little lives. The training is the BEST and knowing that they have such great teachers, and that they have such great friends makes it all worth it. Not to mention the great talents that they are developing. Most of their extra time is spent each week at the studio. It truly is Mikayla's second home. Mikayla is on the Jr. Company this year, and she loves it! Stacy Bills her director put a huge production number on our Jr's, Teens and Sr. Company this year, and it has truly rocked the house. The piece is called "I'm alive" by Celine Dion. At Nuvo (one of our comps), the team dedicated this piece to Hefa Tuita Sr.- a father of 3 of our boys on these teams who died just after Thanksgiving. It was incredible to watch-and tears streamed down many of our eyes. Every time I watch these kids perform this I get goose bumps. They have had several opportunities to perform this piece-one of them being with the "Dancing with the Stars Tour" last month. There are a few possibilities in the works with it right now. I will post them if they get chosen. Anyways, this video does not do it justice, but I just want my blogger friends that go to Center Stage and dance this piece, that you rock! This was taken last night at the Scera while the kids auditioned for "Stadium of Fire". I hope you enjoy it!
PS-Mikayla really is in there dancing.

Happy Valentines Day!

Love is in the air! This year we started our celebration a little early. I always love when the holidays are on the weekends, then you can spread them out a little longer.
We kicked off the holiday by doing a progressive dinner with our friends. We started at the Caziers and had delicious soup (provided by Jason and Jamee) and some yummy focacia bread (provided by the Caziers). Maleen is awesome we had a festivly decorated table with "Love" questions, and strawberries and chocolate. It was GREAT! We then headed to our house where we ate the main course (provided by us), and then the delish trifle (provided by the Moses).
We played some rip roaring games that provided much laughter and some great memories. We love our friends!

This was our first dinner we hosted at our new house! A fun group for hosting a first.

We had a rousing game of Beyond Balderdash....
What is your definition of "Haboob"? I am looking for the funniest! I will post the real definition soon...along with some of our hysterical comments.

Fours

Ok so Blythe challenged me to post my fourth folder with the fourth photo in it. And to challenge 4 people to do the same.

Here is a photo of Megs on her baptism day in 2006. Like Blythe I have about 1200 photos or more on my computer, so this is really random for me. So the four people that I challenge are: Sheri (do it Sher!), Lydia, Brandy, and Karen Jacobson!
Lets see your photos gals- and Pass this on!

Dancing---

SOOOOOOO, I got to spend 2 and a half hours watching Megan dance on Tuesday, after going to the state capital all day with Mikayla. They are getting ready for their big showcase tonight! She is a cute little dancer, and I enjoy watching her.

She and Evan have been dancing together since they were 4. They grow up way to fast!

State Capital

Tuesday was an extremely busy day. The sixth graders went to the state capital in Salt Lake City. It was pretty cool. They got to see legislation in action as they were trying to ammend a bill. It was fun to spend the day with Mikayla and all of her little sixth grade buddies.
