A lesson in "forgiveness"

Well as previously posted-we have been mourning the loss of our sweet little "Tinker" bird. It was a tragic day for us. But I think we have finally reached a point of forgiveness. On Sunday while at church, Steve was sitting out in the foyer with Mason. He was playing with the colored pencils-pretending that they were rocket ships. Well Steve sat quietly listening to Mason as he blasted off to the different planets. Only to arrive in the "Spirit World". He called for Tink saying, "Tink, Tink, where are you?" In his mind he must have found little Tinker. He then proceded to tell Tink he was sorry that he hurt her and that she had died. That he was only playing with her. He hoped that she would forgive him and that he loved her. He blew her 2 kisses and then blasted off with his rocket ships.

A little while later, he shared this tender story with Mikayla-whose heart of hearts was touched and she thought that he was sweet again and she knew he was sorry. Poor boy, its been a hard week for him.

Sad Day at our house!

Well, we had a sad day today. The loss of a special little family member. Our "Tink"er bird passed today. It was a tragic accident. Very unfortunate for all of us. Many tears were shed. Mostly because our girls were so very very sad. Teaching your children about death and their emotions is not an easy thing. I am hoping that in a few days we will see smiles again, as every room has a reminder to our Mikayla. She loved her little bird. Tink will be missed.

Sunny San Diego

I just returned from a fabulous trip to San Diego. I went to my annual Leadership Conference with Close to My Heart. It was probably the best conference I have been too. I just feel so fortunate to be affiliated with the company I belong too. There is not one thing I do not love about Close to My Heart. I had a great time. Not only did we have a great conference, I got to go to the San Diego Zoo with all of the Directors. CTMH had arranged for us to all be picked up in Limo's and be taken to the zoo. We got to go on a 45 minute bus tour of the park. Let me tell you that is the way to see the zoo! WOW ! Especially a zoo like that one. It was a riot. Then we got to have a fabulous meal with our CEO. I got my "longevity"award. A beautiful silver pendant. This was for being with CTMH for 5 years.
---Here in the photo is some of the Utah Directors- Me, Tracy Liu, Dianna Veenendahl, Jeanette Jones (Wyoming), Blythe Shupe, and Sheri Rottler.

Rub a Dub Dub

Ok- so I couldnt resist posting this photo. This is what happens when you tell the kids to go clean out the pool before they swim- and they use an entire bottle of dish soap to clean it out. They not only got themselves clean, but the pool, the patio, the toys etc. clean as well. What could I do but laugh as I saw 6 sudsy kids jumping in and out of the pool and on the trampoline. Isnt summer great, and arnt kids awesome!

Our New Friend

So here is our new little friend "snakey" found at the church, and brought home by my two lovely children. Can I just say that I hate reptiles. Any reptillian! I cant even stand to watch them on TV. They give me the willies. I just cant even handle the thought of them! Just looking at this photo and the mere thought of my kids holding a little snake makes my skin crawl. I was grateful to a good daddy that talked them into setting "Snakey" free, and back to his reptillian family. My poor boy feels gyped! But I will rest easier at night knowing that I dont have a snake in my house, garage, playhouse, car and hopefully yard.

Grandpa Turns 80

Grandpa Clark turned 80 today. We helped him celebrate by having a surprise birthday party for him. It was so fun to see him with all of his family and friends. I think it was so good for him as well to see that he wasnt the only one still alive and to see how many people truly do love him and care about him. All of his grandchildren were there but Cody (who was in Alaska), and Mikayla (who was home pretending to be sick). It was good to see old ward members from Provo there and also good to see friends that we havnt seen in literally years. Goodness, we havnt been gone from Provo that long have we! I think it was a nice tribute and he seemed to love it. We love our Grandpa Clark!

Family Reunion 2007

Back In Business

Well I after a long week of not blogging (withdrawls), the computer is finally fixed. The tech guy couldnt finish fast enough for me! LOL

We made it back from a week in Idaho. We had a lot of fun visiting our families. We spent the first half of the week with my folks. We spent the 4th of July with them. We pretty much had a boring 4th. Usually in our world the 4th of July is a huge holiday-from sleeping out on University in Provo the night before to save our spot, to watching the runners come in, to boating, playing all night and day. This year was spent with our party pooper grandpa-who was content to do nothing. This was the first year that we did not go to a parade in I dont know in how many years. We went to my Uncles house for a barbeque and litterally cooked ourselves in the heat and then went back home. UMmmm.....can we say we did not do one firework either. Steve took the girls and watched the fireworks by the river but we did not do one together as a fam. Kind of a crazy 4th for us. I at least got to make our traditional homemade ice cream though.

The kids did have a great time playing with their cousins and riding the 4-wheelers. Mikayla thinks that she is the bomb rider! Megan of course kept trying to do all sorts of riding tricks like riding side saddle or hopping while she rode. AND her grandpa had to keep getting after her as he was afraid she would not only kill herself, but kill someone else in the process.

The second half of the week was spent in Rexburg at Steve's house. We all gathered there for his family reunion. It was a fun time. Blake and Jenna and their kids all came from Arizona. We were all excited to see them. We had lots of fun activities planned for the week-and everyone stayed busy.

We all went swimming at Heise Hot Springs (man I havn't been there since I was in HS-brought back lots of memories for me!) Might I mention that the slides are still the same. Infact some things never change.

We had a huge family geo cache. Ev and Kristel did a fabulous job! We quickly found out that grandpa Scoresby was the big adventurer. He was always the first there to find the treasure. Everyone loved it. I was dreaming about it!

We roasted fire pies, ate well, played in the new fort, had family photos, had some tournaments, and did some relays, and did a family service project. I think that everyone had a great time. All of the Fred Scoresby posterity was there. All 29 and a half of us!

So my computer is down until Friday. So I cant post any of my fun photos of the happenings of the Scoresby clan until then--BUT I promise an update this weekend. I unfortunately have to use this silly laptop until then. So I guess I'll just enjoy everyone else's blogs!
